Luke Shaw might have gone home with the Club’s Player Of The Season trophy a couple of nights ago but Manchester United fans know that none of these players were good enough throughout the season to deserve a trophy.
There are a few fans who are worried that our squad is full of ageing and average squad players who shouldn’t be starting week in week out.
The likes of Ashley Young, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Nemanja Matic are good squad players and that’s about it, while the likes of Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford need a kick in the backside to reach the level they are supposed to be at.
Manchester United are expected to spend big this summer in order to rebuild a squad capable of challenging for trophies in the future but, hey, we already have a possible superstar on our hands right now!
We are talking about Mason Greenwood here. The 17-year-old has been our academy poster boy this season racking up 26 goals and 8 assists in 29 games for the Red Devils.
The die-hard Manchester United fans who have seen the youngster play know that he’s one of the biggest talents to come out of our academy in the recent years and just needs a chance to show what he’s capable of.
While Mason Greenwood has been involved in the first team, training every week with the senior squad, he still hasn’t had his opportunity. However, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that the young forward will possibly be starting in our final Premier League game of the season against Cardiff tomorrow.
Hopefully, Mason takes this opportunity to impress the gaffer and who knows, maybe he can pull off a Marcus Rashford and become the next breakout star from the academy?
