Leeds United may not have qualified for the Premier League through the Championship play-offs but the team is the centre of several transfer bids. Jack Clarke is a player who didn’t have a regular starting XI spot in Marcelo Bielsa’s squad last term but has been heavily linked as a Spurs transfer target.

Jack Clarke attracting Spurs’ attention
Tottenham are trying to sign a number of big name players for the starting XI. However, the club must also plan for the future. 18 year old left winger Jack Clarke who was only promoted from the Leeds U-18 side last season is part of such a plan.
Bielsa utilized the yet uncapped York born teenager extensively as a super-sub throughout Leeds’ campaign last term to great effect. Even though there were no otherworldly expressions of talent the likes of Jadon Sancho have shown, the Leeds academy product has been able to inspire confidence in prospective buyers.
Accumulating almost 800 minutes in his first ever Championship campaign at a top tier team like Leeds was good enough for Tottenham, who probably sent scouts to watch him.
Deal for the winger maybe close now
There are few journalists whose word is taken with as much confidence when referring to a transfer link as Alan Nixon. Nixon has come out and claimed that Spurs are in the final stages of tying up a deal for the teenager and the price may come as a shock to many, especially Leeds fans.
Here’s Nixon’s take on the Spurs transfer plans for Jack Clarke:
SPURS. Jack Clarke thing should happen from LEEDS this week. 8.5 plus extras up to around 13. Fair enough …

The word is that Tottenham will get their man for as low as £8.5 million upfront. Performance incentives may take the final valuation close to £13 million, getting Spurs their target for what can only described as a bumper bargain. Are you aboard this Jack Clarke hype train?
