Ander Herrera claims that Manchester United youngster Mason Greenwood and Jimmy Garney are good enough to become the next big thing for us.
Herrera, who will complete a free transfer to PSG in the summer has already said his farewell to the squad and the coaching staff. The Midfielder, in an interview, was asked about the players who could replicate the past greats at the Old Trafford and here’s what he claimed:
“There are some good players and they think they are going to be great players — Mason Greenwood, Jimmy Garner.
“There are other players who need time because they are still very young.
“I am optimistic for the future but I ask the fans to give them time. Some of them might tell me to shut up because they have been waiting already.”
Ander Herrera spent 5 years at Manchester United winning 4 trophies and yet the midfielder failed to win a Premier League medal, something that he regrets dearly:
“Of course because this is the greatest and biggest club in England,” he added. “That was one of my dreams but it is what it is. I have won some trophies but the league is something I wanted to win.
“I have been here five years, not the five most successful years in the history of the club, but I have won four titles and lost two finals.
“In a bad moment for the club we have won some trophies. It shows how big the club is.”
There are plenty of Manchester United fans who would have loved for Ander Herrera to extend his contract at the ld Trafford, but all we can do now is wish him the best of luck for all his future endeavours.
