Andy Robertson is 25 and one of the best left-backs in the league right now. However, there was a time when he was a teenager. Like all teenager he used to wonder what the future would be like, even predict it.

In one old-interview published when he was 19, Robertson speaks about the kind of player he would be. He is asked about his strengths and he clearly knows what he is good at.

“My passing and I’m good at supporting my winger from deep,” he said.

“In the modern game it’s good for full-backs to be forward-thinking.”

“I hope to be a professional footballer at as high a level as possible – playing week in, week out.”

The last line is of particular interest as Robertson will feel that now he has achieved it. He had been dreaming of it since when he was in the fourth tier of Scottish football.
