Anthony Martial backs Jose Mourinho to uplift Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham will soon be back in the top six under Jose Mourinho’s leadership claims Anthony Martial ahead of the vital game.

Mourinho will like to make a statement and be looking to extend his four games win streak against his former club who sacked him last December.

Anthony Martial might be eager to put up a fine display against his former manager, however, he is expected to sit on the sideline due to a muscle injury.

We all know Martial had his difference with Jose Mourinho during the Portuguese reign at the Old Trafford, however, he has backed the 56-year-old to lead Spurs back towards the top of the Premier League table.

Asked about Tottenham’s disappointing start to the campaign, Martial told United’s official website:

Yes, I have been surprised.

They had a good season last time around and managed to make it to the Champions League final, so I was expecting them to be doing better.

But I’m sure they will manage to bounce back and climb up the table.

I have no doubts that they will because they have a good side with some great players.

Martial also praised Daniel James and has warned Spurs that they should be wary of his ‘unbelievable’ pace, a player he had never even heard over before the summer.

He’s a player who is blessed with incredible pace. He really is unbelievably fast and yet he is also someone who is able to choose the right option.

In spite of all that pace, he doesn’t lose control, he keeps his head and then often manages to make the right choice.

That’s a big plus for a forward player as that way he can make assists for us all.

He really is a top player and someone I wasn’t aware of before, so quite honestly, that makes him a great addition.

Marcus Rashford has been in sublime goalscoring form for United and Martial says his team-mate has brought a ‘new dimension’ to his performances this season.

For me, Marcus is quite a complete player.

He is young but he’s a guy with a lot of experience because he started out so young.

I think right now he is bringing a whole new dimension to his game.

I hope he’ll keep going like that because that will help us a lot to improve and assist the team in general.

Manchester United face Tottenham next in the Premier League.
