Anthony Martial ruled out of Manchester Derby due to injury

Manchester United forward Anthony Martial might not be able to recover from his injury in time for the Manchester derby this weekend claims United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Red Devils will be visiting their archrivals at the Etihad on Saturday evening, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will hope that the team can continue the winning momentum gained after beating Tottenham st home.

With his team marred with injury issues though, Solskjaer might not be having enough firepower to do so. Beating a recovering Tottenham at home is one thing and beating Pep Guardiola’s rampant and well-grilled team is going to be a totally different ball game for the Old Trafford side.

Manchester United might have secured a victory on Wednesday night without Martial on Wednesday night, however, the United boss has now conceded that the Frenchman is a doubt for the weekend too.

Solskjaer has confirmed that the Frenchman might as well be unavailable for the upcoming games and has refused to give a date on which he might return.

“I’m not sure. I don’t know,” Solskjaer is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

It’s added in the report that Solskjaer told MUTV before the game that the Frenchman would be ruled out for a ‘little while’ after picking up a problem in the draw with Aston Villa, and so that doesn’t paint a particularly positive picture for the weekend as Man Utd may well have to do without him unless he makes significant progress in his recovery over the next 48 hours.

All this BS about playing a rampant City will be too much for United. Remember a couple of seasons back how City was supposedly the best team ever seen in the Premiership. United went to the Etihad all the critics were promoting a cricket score. They were going to win the League by beating United. 2-0 at half time the City supporters were waving their little flags singing Blue Moon. Second half United score 3 and win 2-3. So if they were the best team seen and at home 2-0 up and lose what stops United going there on Saturday and getting a result.
