It seems that the Arsenal boss is not utilising Alex Iwobi to his full potential.
The 22-year-old attacking midfielder, during his 61 minutes of play, displayed some excellent running and incredible passes looking almost lively.
Iwobi was deployed as an attacking midfielder against the Magpies alongside Mesut Ozil and behind the striker Alexandre Lacazette, and endured a quiet play against Newcastle.
According to WhoScored, against Newcastle on Monday evening, the youngster had a pass accuracy of 85.7% and put in one cross.
Iwobi had a touch on the ball a total of 57 times, per WhoScored, and attempted 49 total passes, of which 42 were successful.
He didn’t make any key passes, nor did he complete the dribble despite making three attempts.
He was unable to take one right corner but was substituted just after the hour mark.
This season, the Nigerian international has volleyed 18 goals and made ten substitute appearances in the premier league for the Gunners, scoring three and assisting in four goals.
