As per reports in Italian media, Arsenal has made an offer of £37m to sign Sampdoria’s pair of Dennis Praet and Joachim Anderson.
The Gunners launched the bid after their scouts monitored both the player’s performance extensively throughout the 2018-19 season.
Meanwhile, the Italian club is not willing to sell Anderson and Praet in a combined deal for anything less than £44m ahead of the next Premier League campaign.
It will be a tough task for Unai Emery to make new signings in cash strapped budget of 50m in the summer transfer window after having failed to qualify for the next seasons Champions League.
Praet has scored two goals and provide three assists in 37 games in Serie A last season while Anderson, being a defensive player, can help in improving the leaky defence of the Gunners in the next term.
The North London outfit hasn’t won the Premier League title since 2003-04 when Arsenal had players like Patrick Vieira and Thierry Henry in their squad.
Arsenal requires quality defenders and attackers to become a competitive side to compete in the upcoming season in Premier League.
In other Arsenal transfer news, Arsenal has taken one step further in a move for French defender Dayot Upamecano.
Arsenal has still maintained interest in Upamecano after their scouts were in attendance to monitor the youngster play for the France U21’s during their 3-0 win over Belgium on Monday night.
Upamecano has been linked with a potential move to the Emirates in recent months after making an impressing performance for Leipzig.
The Frenchmen still has two years left on the contract and Leipzig will not allow to let him go, but he will be lured to play in the Premier League only if Arsenal comes calling with a decent offer.
Unai Emery has to strengthen his squad this summer after making a fifth position finish in the table and revamp of the squad with no ageing players in defence will be the priority after conceded 50 goals in across all the competitions this campaign.
