Ole Gunnar Solskjaers’ Manchester United travels to the Netherlands to take on AZ Alkmaar in Group L of the Europa League tonight.

The Red Devils have had a difficult start to their campaign and the club continues to struggle with injury problems, although, there are a couple of injury boosts for the trip.

MANCHESTER UNITED INJURY NEWS

Let’s start with the bad news; Paul Pogba, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Luke Shaw, Ashley Young, Phil Jones, Eric Bailly, and Anthony Martial will all miss the trip due to injuries.

Paul Pogba has an ankle problem and has been advised to rest by the doctors as confirmed by the gaffer himself:

“It’s after discussion with a specialist that we’ve planned that he needs further treatment and rest on his ankle.

“And I probably wouldn’t risk him on astroturf anyway, even if he was available for this game. But he needs a bit of rest now.”

Meanwhile, this game will come too soon for the likes of Anthony Martial and Luke Shaw who need more time to recover and probably should be available only after the international break:

“We’ve had Anthony out and I don’t think he’ll make it,” said the boss.

“Luke is training but I don’t know if he’ll make it. We’ll speak more after the game as the sole focus is on getting the result we need here.”
