Former Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has claimed that Red Devils should let go of Paul Pogba if he doesn’t want to be there.
Paul Pogba has previously talked about his intentions of leaving the Manchester club in search of new challenges elsewhere, however, Ed Woodward doesn’t want to let go of the world cup winner unless he receives a crazy amount of money for his services.
Meanwhile, Bastian Schweinsteiger, who spent 2 years at United, before moving to Chicago Fire, has claimed that Paul Pogba should be let go:
“If a player wants to leave the club, you shouldn’t stop him.
“You need players who are 100 per cent into the club and care about the club, that’s the only way you can survive at the top level and have success.
“Paul is a great player, he is just looking for a team where he can play the same style that he does with the France national team, so if you give him that kind of team around him, he would be happy at United.”
Manchester United fans are still divided on the Paul Pogba situation with some claiming that he’s a world-class player who should be kept at all cost, while others wanting him to leave ASAP.
Meanwhile, Schweinsteiger has backed Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to come good at the club:
“When you become the manager of a big club for the first time, it can’t always be up, it also goes down. It’s normal,” he said.
“I think he really understands how the team has to play football and as far as I can see and I have talked to some players, they are really happy with him.
“They have fantastic players, you just need to use them.”
Manchester United are set to play AC Milan in the last preseason game before squaring off against Chelsea in the first game of the Premier League.
