Amidst the reports suggesting Chelsea have submitted a bid for Bayern Munich full-back David Alaba, head coach Hansi Flick has made it clear that the player is “not for sale”.

Frank Lampard is said to be determined to sign a new left-back during the January transfer window and it doesn’t come as a surprise that Chelsea have shown interest in the 27-year-old, who is widely considered one of the world’s best in the position.

Ben Chilwell recently emerged as Chelsea’s first-choice target, however, with Champions League football in sight next year, it seems highly unlikely that Leicester City would be ready to sell any key players in January.

According to the Mirror, Chelsea are considering making a £60m bid for Alaba, who has just 18 months remaining on his contract with the German champions.

Questioned about Chelsea’s reported interest at a press conference, Flick simply responded: “He is not for sale.”
