Bernardo Silva might be good friends with his compatriot and national squad teammate Bruno Fernandes, however, it has not stopped him from reminding the former Sporting star that they are “rivals” now.
Manchester City star wishes him all the best, nevertheless, and added that the new Manchester United signing deserved to take a big step in his career.
I’m very happy for him. It’s a big step for his career, which he deserves,” said Silva. “He’s going to play for one of the best clubs in the world.
“We’re going to be rivals but I wish him the best, apart from against us, obviously.
“I’m pleased he’ll be in Manchester and I hope we can go out to dinner from time to time.
“Changing country is always difficult, but it’s not Bruno’s first experience abroad and with the quality, he has he’ll adapt well.”
Fernandes flew to Manchester on Wednesday night and was put up at the Lowry hotel before travelling to United’s Carrington training ground on Thursday morning for his medical.
