Tottenham are due to play the Champions League final in Madrid on Saturday. Mauricio Pochettino’s side are currently focused on the final, but have found time to be busy outside of the pitch as well. The transfer window approaches, and with transfers subdued in the last few windows, Levy wants to add firepower to the squad.
A sustained challenge in the league and Europe can only be maintained with fresh infusion of talent in the squad, especially if the players rumoured to be leaving actually do so. One such name would be Christian Eriksen. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the player Spurs are bidding for would be an ideal replacement for the Dane should he leave. His name is Giovani Lo Celso.
The interesting part is that Tottenham have already put in a bid worth £53 million. Giovani Lo Celso has an £88 million release clause and greedy as they are, Real Betis want the real money! Even if £53M is Spurs’ transfer record fee in case it materializes.
Lo Celso has 16 goals and five assists to boot this season and is an attacker that likes to dribble through defenders. He is versatile enough to play several positions in midfield and his tendency to score makes him dangerous around the box. In short, he ticks all the right boxes and at 23 years of age would be an investment for a decade.
