Real Betis are said to have rejected another bid from Tottenham and are holding firm on their demand for £70 million for a player they have only just signed for £20 million. PSG loaned the Argentine midfielder to Betis last summer with an option to buy at the end of the season and after a season, Betis had no doubts about exercising it.
Giovoni Lo Celso’s performances make him very attractive
Giovani Lo Celso played 32 La Liga games last season for Real Betis, scoring nine goals and assisting five. His overall performances meant he ended the season with sixteen goals scored. This naturally makes Manchester United interested in him but their approach would be dependent on the future of Paul Pogba.

The Manchester club are not officially involved yet, perhaps until something emerges in the Pogba saga. The big news for Spurs is that on international duty, Giovani Lo Celso spoke about the ongoing rumours. He chose to play it down while with Argentina in the Copa America but we are sure there’s been talks about him.
Tottenham have already bid for him
Depending on the reports you choose to believe, Tottenham have at least one bid rejected for the Argentine. It is said Betis have pushed back on an offer that values Lo Celso at £53 milllion. Tottenham hoped to seal the deal with money they received by selling Eriksen but that hasn’t happened so far.
Now the club must arrange alternative finance for the deal. Betis are standing firm on their valuation of £70 million. They have no reason to budge in front of Daniel Levy because the player has an £88 million release clause. His contract goes on through 2023, giving no respite to Spurs.
