Sporting CP Star Bruno Fernandes has admitted that he would love to play in the Premier League, amidst interest from Manchester United.
Bruno Fernandes has been a long time target for Manchester United after the 24-year-old racked up 20 goals and 13 assists in the 2018-19 Primeira Liga season.
The Red Devils are in the search of a Midfielder who can score goals and create chances from the Middle of the pitch, an option we lack in our squad apart from Paul Pogba.
There have been several links regarding the future of the 24-year-old and here’s what he had to say on the matter when quizzed about his future:
“I always said that I was an ambitious player and from a very early age I have had a dream of playing in England, where you can live pure football without big controversy, without big cases.
“Now, any of the other leagues, Germany, Spain and Italy are also very good and ambitious.”
“Last year I received approaches, mainly from England and also from Spain, but I did not feel prepared to go.
“Not because of difficulty, but for the high number of games in England.
“My debut season at Sporting was the first time I played so many games, I thought I needed one more season with that kind of regularity.
“Now I feel prepared for this requirement if I ever have to play in England or a team in Spain.”
A technically gifted player, Bruno Fernandes could turn out to be the missing link in our midfield, someone who can act as a bridge between our Midfield and the forward line.
But would Manchester United fork out big money on Bruno Fernandes? That is the real question for Ed Woodward and co.
