Sporting CP star Bruno Fernandes won’t be joining Manchester United this season, according to the latest reports from Sky Sports.
As per various media reports, Bruno Fernandes has been a transfer target for the Red Devils for the last 2 months, however, there have been issues over the financial side of things which has kept this transfer from happening.
Fernandes, who started and scored for Sporting CP in the 2-2 draw against Liverpool today, has already expressed his desire to play in the Premier League and even his manager has admitted that it would be difficult to stop the Portuguese from leaving the club this summer:
“I can say about Bruno that he’s a very good player and he’s important for us.
“Of course everybody would like him to stay but we don’t know the situation at the moment. He is here but we don’t know what the future will bring, so we will have to wait.
“We know that clubs like him, so we have to see what’s going to happen.”
However, as per Sky Sports, Bruno Fernandes to Manchester United is very unlikely in this transfer window as the Manchester club needs to offload a few players before diving into the market.
While, we are still in the need of a Central Midfielder, it’s been suggested that if Pogba stays at the Old Trafford, we might just roll with what we’ve got, instead of signing someone else.
Meanwhile, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp had something to say about Fernandes to United speculations:
“Bruno Fernandes to Manchester United? He’s obviously a really good player,” said Klopp. “They have already a few really good players so that would make them stronger and that’s not nice.
“It’s not our cup of tea to be honest.”
