Craig Burley has said on ESPN that Liverpool should look for Atletico star Antoine Griezmann this summer transfer window.
Griezmann earlier this week had disclosed that he would be leaving Madrid this summer.
Jurgen Klopp’s team has one of the most lethal attacking lineups with the trio of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah.
But former Premier League striker thinks that Anfield would be a ‘great place’ for the Frenchmen, who was the part of the World Cup winning team last summer.
Burley told ESPN: “I actually think that Liverpool would be a great place for Griezmann to go this summer.
“You talk about how good Griezmann would be linking up with Messi and Barcelona, what about with Liverpool’s front three?
“You look at that, and we talk about Liverpool needing that strength in depth, he would add that and Firmino or Salah some games might sit out.”
While Marca, a Spanish sports paper states that, Griezmann’s release clause will drop nearby £103 million and very few clubs can afford to pay those huge figures.
In last four seasons, Griezmann has made 256 appearances for Atletico Madrid and has scored 133 goals and provided 50 assists.
Griezmann has 69 caps for the French team and scored 28 goals.
If Liverpool can land the French international this summer which will surely provide them with an edge in the Premier League after missing out on the title by a point to Manchester City.
