No, we are not talking about Manuel Pellegrini here. We are talking about the Italian Pellegrini- Lorenzo. The AS Roma number 7 is attracting attention from some of the biggest clubs in England including Manchester United, Arsenal and their cross town rivals Spurs.
Playing in the Champions League final for the first time has certainly raised Tottenham’s profile as a club seriously in the hunt for big prizes. Such a club always attracts players with the ambition to win the said competition. In this case it’s Lorenzo Pellegrini who wants to play in the Champions League and thinks Spurs might be the place to do it.
The spicy bite here comes directly from Italy’s Calciomercato who claim that Lorenzo Pellegrini’s agent is in London and in touch with club representatives from all of England. Mostly the rumours focus on Tottenham.
22 year old Lorenzo came through the ranks at AS Roma before being sold to Sassuolo in 2015. He was bought back to the capital club and given the number 7 shirt in due time. He has since earned praise from a good number of pundits and experts. Spurs are considering him as the cheaper alternative should a deal for Giovani Lo Celso not materialize.
In his homeland, Inter Milan and Antonio Conte are also said to be keeping tabs on him. The central midfielder has already earned 10 caps for the Italy national team and is considered a big star of the future. The report goes on to say that even though his contract lasts until 2022, he has a release clause worth 35 million Euros.
Should his agent conclude a deal with Spurs or would you rather he played for Arsenal? Let us know.
