“Captain”, “Proper Man Utd player” – United fans love Lindelof’s comments

Manchester United fans have called on for Victor Lindelof to be named the next Manchester United Captain after his latest comments.

Antonio Valencia has been the club Captain for the Red Devils, even though the Right Back was out injured for major parts of the last season, but with him moving on in the summer, the Gaffer is on the lookout for a new Captain.

Although, it’s pretty certain that Ashley Young will lead us in the upcoming season, the United fans have took to Twitter to endorse Victor Lindelof for the post. Why, you ask?

It’s a fact that Lindelof was our best Defender in an otherwise dismal 2018-19 season. The Swedes consistently good showing meant that the big European Clubs, including Barcelona, were interested in his services, as per Victor’s agent Hasan Cetinkaya.

However, when inquired about Barcelona’s interest, Victor Lindelof put all those rumors to rest by a straight forward response on the matter:

“I’m very, very happy to be a Manchester United player and I’m really looking forward to this season to start and very happy here,” said Lindleof.

“That’s my answer to that.

“I always felt like a Manchester United player but last season was a better season for me, I performed better than I did in my first, pretty.

In an age where players are giving away interviews in Japan seeking “new challenges elsewhere”, while others are stalling on a new contract to milk away as much money as possible, this is a welcome change of events at the Old Trafford.

As a Manchester United player under contract, Lindelof’s reply was commendable and of course the United fans took to Twitter to applaud his brilliant response asking him to be named the Captain for the new season. Here are a few tweets:

Make Lindeloff captain Solksjaer and tell him if anybody isn’t pulling his weight on the field to rip his arsehole off just like Keane did. That is what we need somebody on that field like Keane was. Somebody to be the captain not in name only.
