Manchester United have agreed on the personal terms with Tottenham star Christian Eriksen, as per the latest reports today.
The Dane has just 12 months left on his current contract with the London Club and the Spurs star has already indicated that he would like a move away from the club in this summer transfer window.
Eriksen was interested in completing a move to Real Madrid earlier in the summer, but Real Madrid boss Florentino Perez failed to agree on terms with Spurs’ Chairman Daniel Levy, which saw the potential move being scuppered at the last minute.
As per the reports, Manchester United are still looking to sign a midfielder after the departure of Ander Herrera and Ed Woodward’s failure to land Bruno Fernandes in the past few weeks.
As per the official Sky Sports sources:
“Manchester United are considering a late move for Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen before Thursday’s transfer deadline, Sky Sports News understands.”
The Metro has gone on to claim that the Red Devils have agreed on the personal terms with the 27-year-old which will see Eriksen become the third-highest earner at the club, just behind Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez.
Meanwhile, Mauricio Pochettino and co. will like to keep Christian Eriksen at the club, but the 27-year-old’s attitude and body language have been a source of concern around the club during the preseason games.
Consequently, the London club have shown interest in Juventus’ star Paulo Dybala as a potential replacement for Eriksen should the midfielder makes a move to ‘the theatre of dreams’.
An agreement with Spurs’ chairman Daniel Levy could still turn out to be a messy affair with Levy known for his tough negotiating tactics.
But, with only 12 months left on Eriksen’s contract, Tottenham doesn’t have much leverage to play with.
