Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte has talked about the possibility of signing Romelu Lukaku from Man Utd this summer.
The Belgian striker is currently with the Red Devils squad, nursing some kind of unknown injury, as the 25-year-old has failed to feature in any of the pre-season games.
Lukaku and his agent Federico Pastorello have reiterated several times that they would like a dream move to Serie A over staying at the Old Trafford after Marcus Rashford replaced the Belgian as the first choice striker in the squad.
Antonio Conte is a long term admirer of the big man as the Italian tried to sign him for Chelsea a couple of years ago before we gazumped that deal.
Now the manager of Inter Milan, the Gaffer was asked about his interest in the Man Utd Striker and here’s what he said on the situation:
“As I’ve always said, we’re talking about a player [Lukaku] who isn’t ours.
“Therefore, it’s not right to talk about him because that would show a lack of respect towards the player and the club.
“Lukaku is a United player, we know that the transfer market is ongoing and the club is working to try and complete the squad, including both incomings and outgoings.
“As I’ve always said, I have a lot of confidence in the club. The most important thing for me at the moment is to stress that I’m happy with how my players are working.
“We’re working to create something solid. It’s inevitable that we’ll then go on to complete the squad, but the important thing is that those who arrive integrate well and possess the mentality that this group of lads have.”

It’s worthwhile to note that the Italian, at no point, denied the interest in the 25-year-old.
It’s a well-known fact that the Serie A side are looking to complete the deal for Romelu Lukaku, but are still unable to meet the financial demands of Man Utd.
Hopefully, the situation can be resolved soon before the start of the campaign, whether it means he stays or leaves (in which case, we would need a replacement)
