Danny Murphy thinks that Sadio Mane could trouble Kieran Trippier in Liverpool’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur in the finals of Champions League.
Tottenham Hotspur’s will be gearing up for their first ever Champions League summit clash as they prepare to take on the Reds in Madrid on Saturday night.
The Lilywhites earned praises for their performance as they overcame three goals deficit in the semifinals by defeating Ajax to secure a spot in the finals of Europe’s elite club competition, while Liverpool won 4-3 on aggregate against Barcelona in the second leg at Anfield.
And the Former Spurs midfielder Murphy feels that Trippier could struggle to deal with Mane’s attacking talent on Saturday night in Madrid.
Speaking in an interview with The Sport Review Murphy said: “I would be tempted to give their front three the respect they deserve and play three at the back, which would turn into five at the back. Trippier against Mane could be problematic.”
“It’s a more important game for Tottenham than Liverpool,” he continued. “If Liverpool go on to lose, they will still be competing next year, and they will get over the line at some point with the quality they have got.
Liverpool made to the finals of the Champions League last year also but would be looking forward to winning their first major showpiece with Klopp, whereas Tottenham will also be hoping for the same with Mauricio Pochettino.
