David Silva says “anything could happen” in the Liverpool v Spurs final

Liverpool are fighting for the Champions League trophy on the first day of June. The club will be hoping to add to their collection of five trophies.

In an interview that appeared with Ondacero of Spain, the City player lists Liverpool as the favourites.

Spurs reached the final on the back of a win over Ajax, who were winning the tie for 3 halves out of four. Liverpool themselves achieved the miracle of Anfield to beat Barcelona from 3-0 down in the first leg.

The Spain international and multiple Premier League winner said that the knock-out tournament has been crazy this season. Full of surprises and upsets, one of which saw City knocked out on away goals by Tottenham. So naturally, Silva gives some credit to Spurs and warns that anything could happen in the fixture.

Liverpool can’t underestimate the effort Tottenham can make in a final

Liverpool v Tottenham final will be played June 1.
Liverpool are overwhelming favourites but anything could happen in a final.

We’ve already seen that this season the Champions League has been a bit crazy; last minute goals, comebacks. Anything can happen.”

Liverpool have already beaten Tottenham twice in the league this season. Winning both the home and away games 2-1. Spurs are expected to not be walkovers, but with the form Liverpool have been in, it seems unlikely anyone could stop them.

The match is scheduled to be played in the Spanish capital, at Atletico’s stadium. Fans have been angry with the number of tickets allocated to both the clubs and have demanded sponsors give up their quota of seats for fans. With only 16,000 tickets apiece, both sets of fans are set to miss out on a sell-out final.
