As per the latest reports, the 16-year-old Mateo Mejia is one of the most talented and sought after youngsters in Spain who is capable of playing on the right-wing, a constant problem position for Manchester United in the recent years.
Ever since Antonio Valencia, Manchester United haven’t had a settled player in that position which was one of the reasons Ole Gunnar Solskjaer opted for Daniel James’ signature.
However, Mateo Mejia isn’t expected to slot right into the first team as the 16-year-old will probably look to impress with the academy side before making a claim for the senior side.
The last 12 months have seen Mejia draw attention from the biggest clubs in the Europe while being labelled as a ‘goalscoring wideman’ in Spain.
The signing of the young Mejia also ticks all the boxes of the new transfer policy that Ole Gunnar Solskajer is trying to implement at the Old Trafford.
A young and talented star who could qualify as a home-grown player in 3 years time, Mateo Mejia could be one for the future.
Now, let’s move on to the more pressing matters like a center-back and a right-back signing, shall we Mr. Ed Woodward?
