Argentine Legend Diego Maradona has stated that he’s the man to coach Manchester United, if they want to win trophies in the future.
The 58-year-old is the current manager of Mexican second division club Dorados since 2018, but the footballing legend has made his desire felt about coaching the Red Devils in the future:
“If Manchester [United] need a coach, I’m the man to do it.
“I know they sell lots of shirts around the world, but they need to win trophies, too. I can do that for them.”
Maradona also admitted that, although, Manchester United used to be his favorite English team in the Premier League under Sir Alex Ferguson, he’s now a Manchester City supporter, thanks to the presence of Sergio Aguero:
“Manchester United used to be my favourite English team for so long. So many great players and a great team under Alex Ferguson. But now I have to say Man City.
“I know you shouldn’t change like that but it’s because of Kun [Aguero]. We speak a lot and he plays in a very good team.”
Diego Maradona is also not a fan of Paul Pogba because he ‘doesn’t work hard enough’ for the team instead, the 58-year-old admires Ander Herrera who has now signed for PSG on a free transfer:
“With United I liked Ander Herrera. Paul Pogba? Doesn’t work hard enough,” Maradona added.
“I played at Old Trafford [in the 1983/84 Cup Winners’ Cup quarter-final]. What noise, like La Bombonera.”

It’s quite humbling to hear that Diego Maradona would be interested in coaching the Red Devils, but, with all due respect, it wouldn’t be a good move by any consideration.
The 58-year-old was a phenomenal player, one of the best of all time, but, as a coach, Diego hasn’t achieved anything noteworthy in his career.
However, many of the Manchester United fans would definitely agree on his analysis on Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera!
