Tottenham Hotspur are out in the market and desperately looking at players who could replace Christian Eriksen. In that regard, Spurs may also go all out and break there transfer record, spending in excess of £100 million this summer. However, at this moment a transfer for Bruno Fernandes to Spurs looks very unlikely.
Manchester United are competing with Spurs for the signature of one of the most potent midfielders linked with Spurs: Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese attacking midfielder contributed directly towards 50 goals for Sporting with his goals and assists.
Bruno Fernandes to Spurs can’t go through till Eriksen stays
Those numbers hark about a player with immense potential and the ability to make it at a top club like Tottenham or Manchester United. According to reports in Bruno’s native Portugal, the player is seriously considering the chance to move to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.
However, Christian Eriksen may prove to be the straw that breaks this transfer saga for Tottenham. Spurs’ Eriksen expressed his wish to move out of the club for a ‘step up’. Real Madrid were the club Eriksen indicated he would like to move to, but the Madridistas have shown zero interest so far in Eriksen. All this while they have spent in excess of £250 million.
Bruno Fernandes transfer held up due to Real Madrid impasse
Even with just one year remaining on his deal, Levy planned to squeeze Real Madrid in return for Eriksen, using Eden Hazard as a corrolary. You see, Levy weighs Hazard and Eriksen as equal. Madrid? Not so much. Thus, an impasse has been created where Spurs can’t buy the player they want to replace the Dane unless he is sold. There’s no clarity if, when and who will bid for Christian Eriksen.
Amidst all this, United are hard at work and may steal a march on the North Londoners in the race to sign Bruno Fernandes, who is valued in excess of £70 million. However, Spurs are proceeding rapidly with moves for Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso. So the fans should rest assured that Eriksen’s impasse will not hamper Tottenham’s transfer window.
As it stands, we don’t know which way the Bruno Fernandes transfer saga will turn. It does look more likely that the player will go to United rather than Spurs.
