ESPN Pundit backs Sarri to stay at Chelsea despite exit Rumors

Chelsea top bosses will give Maurizio Sarri another chance despite them deeming the Italian as unfit for the job according to Craig Burley.

Chelsea have made it to the last four in Europa League and currently sit fourth in the league table two points ahead of Arsenal under Maurizio Sarri’s tutelage.

The Italian has been pretty vocal throughout against his critics claiming that his debut season in English football shouldn’t be considered a failure even if the Blues don’t make to next season’s Champions League.

Discussing the claims made by the 60-year-old, former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley believes that Sarri is too stubborn to Change his tactics to please the fans.

But he also insists that the likes of Roman Abramovich are reluctant to wield the axe given the off-field scenario around the club.

“I think he will stay on,”

claimed Burley about Sarri

“But I’m not convinced he’s the right man for the job.

“But I think he deserves at least another year.

“But I’m not convinced he’s the right man for the job.

“And I kind of think that’s how the Chelsea hierarchy see it.

“The likelihood is they will give him another run but I don’t think they’re convinced, I certainly think the fans are not convinced.

“They’re probably going to get top four, probably, them and Tottenham look likely.

“What he’ll do is go and try and find other players, if indeed they can sign anybody, and he’ll try and play the exact same way but with different personnel, and Jorginho, because he’ll play.

“And the worry is teams are just figuring it out, teams are a little bit more cleverer than that now.

“They were quite easy to stop this season, Chelsea.”

He further went on to add.
