Gonzalo Higuain has flopped under Maurizio Sarri owing to the tactical decisions made by the Italian according to former Chelsea player Craig Burley.
Speaking on ESPN FC he said: “Sarri says that Higuain is struggling to adapt to English football, well he should have known this,
“He knows Higuain very well from Italy and he has had a good six months to suss out how football is played over here.”
His ESPN colleague Alejandro Moreno seemed to have agreed to Burley’s views as he further went on to reiterate :
“I would be more surprised with Higuain’s lack of creativity if he was missing chances left and right but it’s not like Chelsea is creating all sorts of opportunities, “He is hardly participating in the play so then you see him dropping off to play in a deeper position just to try and get a touch on the ball.
“It obviously doesn’t help when you have a guy like Callum Hudson-Odoi that can help him out left on the bench though.
“I don’t quite understand some of the decisions that Sarri has made and so we go back to the point that this team under him is neither coming or going.”
