Dani Ceballos moved to Real Madrid in 2017 as a 20 year old. He has failed to make the step up to the most frivolous club in the world but at 22, is still very much a salvageable package. Spurs are apparently trying to bring him to the new Tottenham Stadium for an affordable and palateable price of £25 million. Dani Ceballos played only 1600 minutes for Real Madrid in the 2018-19 season.
The central midfielder was brought to Real Madrid because of his great passing and good dribbling abilities. However, Zidane didn’t trust him enough to start the midfielder regularly. Lopetegui tried making him a part of Real’s midfield filled with the likes of Modric, Kroos and Casemiro but he lost his job. The return of Zidane may well be the final straw for his career in Madrid.
Tottenham transfer may resurrect Ceballos’ career
Ceballos, should he choose to leave, will not be cheap because Real Madrid have him signed up until 2023. However, their urge to balance the books after spending close to £250 million so far could lower his price.
Eldesmarque have come out and said that Tottenham may spend upto 40m Euros for the player. As shrewd a negotiator as Daniel Levy is, he is certainly capable of bringing the price down.
Dani Ceballos explained recently that he had been in touch with Zidane since the manager returned and having done that, he may choose to leave Real Madrid before the next season:
“Zidane has spoken to me, and he was very clear,”
“I have accepted his explanations as to what he sees for me next season.”

Ceballos is most capable as a central midfielder but can also play as an attacking midfielder. However, Tottenham fans do not seem very convinced about the former Real Betis player. Likely because most people believe Giovani Lo Celso is a better fit for Tottenham. Did we tell you he has a 500 million Euro release clause in his Real Madrid contract.
