Fenway Sports Group studying radical Anfield possibility

Anfield Road is the home of Liverpool Football Club. The words ‘This is Anfield’ grace the tunnels that players take to the pitch. Iconic and intimidating at the same time, the stadium seats 54000 people.

In comparison, cross town rivals at Goodison Park can seat almost 40000. The difference is not as much as it should be.

Even this 54K capacity of Anfield was achieved when FSG decided to increase the size of the Main Stand at the stadium. 54K isn’t enough it seems, as Fenway Sports Group is mulling a further expansion of one of the stands, likely the Anfield Road end.

The idea is to gain parity in match day revenues with the likes of United, Arsenal, and now even Spurs.

It is reported that Fenway are undertaking feasibility studies and would rather work at an Anfield expansion plan then move to a new place.
