United fans have taken to Twitter to react to a report published in the Mirror suggesting that David De Gea could sign a new deal with the club.

According to the Report, the Spaniard is ready to pen a new contract at Old Trafford which would see him bag a whopping £350,000-a-week, a massive rise on his current £200,000-a-week deal.

De Gea will go on to become the highest paid goalkeeper in the world should the deal come through.

The Spaniard originally wanted parity with club’s highest earner Alexis Sanchez and was believed to run out his current deal which expires next year.

However, recent talks between Man United hierarchy and De Gea’s superagent Jorge Mendes have been fruitful and it seems that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have De Gea at his disposal for the upcoming seasons.

The 28-year-old has been United’s standout performer in post-Sir Alex Ferguson era winning the Sir Matt Busby player of the year award a record 4 times.

United fans understandably are filled with joy and have taken to Twitter to express their excitement with many suggesting that he be given the captain’s armband.
