Harry Winks was having a spectacular season for a 23 year old but then an injury curtailed his progress, much like other Spurs players. However, as fortunes tend to do, things have changed. Harry Winks may be in line to start his first game in over a month and it will be the Champions League final.
It is hard to imagine Tottenham boss Pochettino risking a returning player but Tottenham may reap the benefit of the following players being available for selection. Harry Kane has almost been cleared to play:
- Danny Rose
- Dele Alli
- Harry Wink
Harry Kane, Harry Winks, Dele Alli and Danny Rose are all fit
With four important names returning from injury, Pochettino should be satisfied with the squad available to him. Harry Kane is already a nailed on starter if fit, and he looks like more than ready to play. Only time will tell if he starts.
Another important place in the squad is that of the midfield, where a recovering Harry Winks is giving a selection headache to the manager. The only question here, about both Harry1 and Harry2 is which of them will be match fit before Saturday.
Winks was nursing an injury to his groin. Meanwhile Jan Vertonghen has also recovered fully from his ankle injury and should be available for selection. So barring any major setbacks, Tottenham and Pochettino have a clean bill of health as they approach the Champions League final in 24 hours.
In case both Kane and Harry Winks prove their fitness, they will both be in the starting line-up. There’s no stone Pochettino should leave unturned to return from Madrid with the Champions League trophy.
