Former Chelsea Striker Tony Cascarino has slammed Manchester United for their performance against Barcelona in the Champions League last night.
It was always going to be a tough task to take on Barcelona at Camp Nou and come up with a positive result, however, a few individual mistakes cost us the game.
Pundit Tony Cascarino specifically called out 5 United players for their performance against the Catalan Club:
“After a bright start last night, things suddenly just turned for the worse for Manchester United,” he wrote in The Times.
“I couldn’t quite believe what I was seeing.”
“Ashley Young was getting caught on the ball and gave away a goal,” he continued.
“Chris Smalling and Phil Jones were being given the runaround.
“Fred was giving the ball away and Paul Pogba just seemed to be playing his own kind of game.
“No one in the United team performed to a standard anywhere near good enough to take on Barcelona.
“United usually find a will and a way to get back into a game.
“But last night they got worse, and at 2-0 their heads dropped and they seemed to lose belief.”
Well, we were always going to get some stick after that defeat last night. Seems like these pundits just sit there waiting to latch on to anything and everything related to Man United.
But hey, we brought it on ourselves, didn’t we? Now, hopefully, we can put this performance in the past and get ourselves some positive results in the Premier League.
