Santi Cazorla’s career as a player might be nearing an end, however, while speaking to BBC Sports, the Spaniard has expressed his desire to join Arsenal again as a coach alongside Mikel Arteta.
Cazorla was offloaded by Arsenal during the 2018 summer transfer window and has revealed last week that he would have not left the club if Arsene Wenger would still have been the Arsenal manager.
The Villarreal midfielder, now 35, has a great relationship with Arteta since their time together at Arsenal as players and he has revealed that if an opportunity presents itself, he would like to come back and help his old friend at the North London club.
He told BBC Sport:
In the future, who knows? I will always be open to helping him because he is my friend and also because of all the things he did for me when I came to England.”
Cazorla’s career at Arsenal might have ended abruptly after he was sidelined for almost two years due to his injuries, however, there is no denying that he was one of the most talented and gifted players when he was at his best.
