Frank Lampard will have no hesitation to take over from Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge in case the Italian is sacked at the end of the season.
Lampard has enjoyed a fair bit of success in his first campaign as a manager with his side Derby County in the sixth position rallying strong for a playoff spot.
The 40-year-old is a firm favourite to replace Sarri as the Italian hasn’t been able to deliver the goods after a promising start to his tenure.
Sarri has been under fire from critics and fans alike and many believe that Chelsea not finishing in the top four or winning the Europa League could be the last straw.
Lampard’s appointment will come as a big joy for the Chelsea fans as he is a firm favourite amongst the Blues faithful scoring a club record 211 goals in 13 season he spent at Stamford Bridge.
