On Thursday Virgil Van Dijk was in action for the Netherlands in the Nation League semi-final against England.
The former Celtic and Southampton star gave an impressive performance throughout the match, as Ronald Koeman’s side proved themselves to be better than the Three Lions as the Dutch won the match with a score of 3-1 after extra time to progress to the finals.
During the match, England fans were seen hooting Van Dijk, and former Tottenham Hotspur legend Lineker has said on Twitter that it was embarrassing.

Van Dijk is currently one of the best central defenders in the world of football and had a very good season with Liverpool.
The Reds finished a point behind the champions Manchester City in Premier League table and also winning the Champions League for the sixth time in the history of the tournament.
At 27, the former Celtic striker is at the top of his game, and Liverpool undoubtedly has a world-class footballer in their team.
Van Dijk has transformed Liverpool’ defence since his arrival at the Anfield in January 2018 as their defence is considered as one of the strongest in Europe and having won against big teams including Bayern Munich and Manchester City in the Champions League.
