Maxi Gomez on being linked with Liverpool says that he is “very comfortable” at Celta Vigo, despite rumours of a switch to the Anfield.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is being speculated to bring in a new central striker to bolster his attacking trio of Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino.
However, Klopp is not going to depend on the big names in his squad and the Daily Star reports that the Anfield boss has listed the names of possible summer targets – with £50 million forward Maxi Gomes being one of them.
The Uruguay international, says that he is not thinking about a move to Barca or Liverpool at present.
He told Marca: “There are many comments through social networks, what if I sign for Barcelona if I go to Liverpool…
“I am very calm, and in Vigo, I feel very comfortable.”
The 22-year-old has played 33 matches this season in La Liga and has scored 13 goals and providing 13 assists while making an only single appearance in Copa Del Ray.
Gomez has taken his tally to 13 after scoring a brace against Espanyol last weekend.
The young talent is being considered as the Luis Suárez’s successor in the national side and has the capacity to become the next centre forward.
