Arsenal fans are infuriated after Gunners lost to Chelsea last night by 4-1 in the finals of Europa League and have held Mesut Ozil responsible for the loss.
The North London side needed to win to qualify for next season’s Champions League, but suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Chelsea as Eden Hazard ran riot in his dominating second-half performance.
The Arsenal boss has decided that Ozil will be leaving the club due to him not performing well this season.
The former German international was replaced in the 78th minute with Joe Willock and has been criticized for his lazy performance on the pitch.
The midfielder, who is valued at £31.5 million in the current transfer market, has struggled for consistency so far this season, having provided only two assists in 24 Premier League appearances.
Ozil got a place in the starting lineup in Arsenal’s most significant match but could not make his worth count in Arsenal’s last game of the season.
The Gunners fans could not resist themselves from accusing the 30-year-old for teams loss last night, who has been out of big games in the past and even the most die-hard Ozil fans were unable to excuse his painfully slow trudge to the bench in Baku.
Check out the best of the reaction below.
The scoreline wasn’t as shocking as seeing Ozil walk off the pitch after being subbed like it was a preseason friendly.

Defended Ozil for years and tried to convince myself he cared, but to walk off the pitch like he did when you’re 3-0 down and played like that is the final straw, him and a lot of the squad need to go now

Am I hurt ? YES.
Am I surprised? NO
Arsenal's problem was well spelt out by the coach… quality is not enough and you also need CHARACTER… seeing Ozil cat walk off the pitch explains it all.

I love Ozil, but I absolutely hated that walk off the pitch when we were 3-0 down. You have to sprint off. I worry that Auba is shaky under pressure too. He looked overwhelmed by that penalty against Spurs earlier this year and he didn’t show up today.

You made me a fan of this club. You played the most beautiful football in the world. You made me love the game.
But today was different. I get that people lose ability, but to walk off the pitch like that is awful. Thank you for everything, but we need a change. Bye pic.twitter.com/4Db8zRdcmS

Final note: OZIL HAS TO GO. That walk off was a disgrace to the club, the team and the manager. A leader would sprint off and pump the team up as he leaves.

Ozil get out of my club, Done hardly nothing all match and when you see Hazard on the opposite side making things happen and after you get subbed off just slowly walk off the pitch, the worst thing is that he will not go and stay on £350,000 a week for another 2 seasons.

They might have been ineffective but Ozil’s attitude has infected our squad. I used to love him but watching him walk off the pitch tonight typified what he does to the club. There are obviously more issues outside him but he’s a disgrace and should hold culpability for tonight

Ozil has been one of the best midfielders in the Emirates. At times when required, he has proven his worth. In the 2017-18 season, he played a crucial role in winning the game against AC Milan in the Europa League at San Siro.
He set up a goal scoring opportunity for Ramsey which any playmaker would be proud of. That assist was Ozil’s 100 goal contribution in 189 appearances.
Let’s see what destiny has for the Arsenal midfielder.!!
