Harry Maguire has arrived at Manchester United’s training ground for the medicals ahead of the proposed move to the Old Trafford.
The Leicester City defender has been the transfer target for the Red Devils for the past 2 months, but United were unable to strike a deal due to the financial differences with the Foxes.
However, if the latest reports are to be believed, Man United have finally agreed on an £85m deal with Leicester City making Harry Maguire the most expensive defender in the world moving ahead of Liverpool’s Virgil Van Dijk.
The 26-year-old was also pictured arriving at United’s training ground for the medicals which confirms the news.
Meanwhile, Graeme Souness has reacted to Harry Maguire’s move to Manchester United by claiming that the Englishman is a terrific defender who will be a massive success at the Old Trafford for the next 10 years.
‘Everyone knows United are desperate to get back to the top of the Premier League.
‘There’s a premium paid normally for Manchester United but this time I think there’s a premium on the premium.
‘But Harry Maguire is a top player and, at 26, has eight years left at the top in him providing he doesn’t get any injuries.
‘He has outstanding quality. He can defend, he’s great on the ball and has great presence. He gets goals, too.
‘I think it’s a great buy.’
And what about the world record transfer fee? Well, as per Souness, that doesn’t matter as Maguire will still be a brilliant player for Manchester United in the years to come:
‘£80m? It’s not for me to say it’s too much,’ the former Premier League defender added.
‘That’s how much he cost, they were prepared to pay and they’ve got him. I think he will be outstanding for Manchester United.’
What about you guys? How do you feel about this transfer?
