‘He knows Solskjaer rates him’ – Tielemans want Manchester United move

Youri Tielemans is interested in a move to Manchester United after it was claimed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer rates him very highly.

Tielemans spent 6 months on loan at Leicester City last season where the Monaco midfielder impressed everybody with his brilliant play for the Foxes.

The 22-year-old was instrumental in Leicester’s resurgence in the second half of the last season under Brendan Rodgers as the Belgian scored three world-class goals and provided four assists in 13 Premier League games.

However, with a contract running until 2022 at Monaco, the Ligue one club are in no hurry to let go of their prized asset for cheap as they are set to demand anything between £40 million and £50 million for the services of the midfielder.

Leicester have ‘reportedly’ made Youri Tielemans their transfer priority with the Foxes in front of the queue for the signature of the young Belgian.

But, hey, we are short of midfielders too! And I know a lot of Manchester United fans who would be willing to sign a 22-year-old Tielemans over Newcastle’s Sean Longstaff anyday!

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also a big fan of the Midfielder and according to Belgian football expert, Kristoff Terreur, Tielemans would prefer a move to Manchester ahead of the Foxes:

“Leicester are still in pole position to sign him. The problem they have is that they didn’t have an option to buy him, otherwise it would have been an easy deal.

“If a club like Man Utd comes in where you can play European football, which is always very important for continental players, they can offer him that so he might rethink.

“He knows that Solskjaer rates him so he feels that the manager likes him.”

To be fair, signing a player like Youri Tielmans at the above quoted price is a lot smarter transfer decision compared to spending £30m on an unproven Sean Longstaff. What do you think?
