Tottenham Hotspur are showing the signs of a club that wants to stand shoulder to shoulder with the best in Europe. This became clear after the club record £63 million deal to sign Tanguy NDombele from Lyon. Other targets like Lo Celso are still being pursued. Now, Manchester United may indirectly help us further our aims in the transfer market this summer. It will also affect Christian Eriksen.
United fearful of losing Paul Pogba
Manchester United want to make a team around Paul Pogba. The problem is that Pogba isn’t really keen on the offer. He says “Thanks, but no thanks!” and flirts with the ‘Men of Madrid’, who seduce one player after another from the Premier League. Both United and Tottenham share feeding the Madrid hounds.
Zidane may now turn attention to arguably France’s best midfield talent since Zidane himself, and guide his career under his own supervision. The idea would sure sound gold to Pogba, who would now want to win a Champions League himself, since the World Cup is off the bucket list. Everyone knows who wins them the most these days, bar aberrations.
The money United will presumably get from this deal would be £150 million and then utilized to convince Tottenham to sell Eriksen. This is where the catch comes in.
Eriksen not the only attacking midfielder United are chasing
When a club the size of Manchester United starts looking for players to sign, they look at multiple prospects at the same time. Christian Eriksen maybe one such fellow, on one of those lists, but he’s not the only one. James Maddison and Youri Tielemans are the other names on that list, according to Standard.co.uk
In another report, Marca has claimed that Daniel Levy will let go of Christian Eriksen for as little as £65 million. That price for a player of Eriksen’s abilities would save United a ton of cash. Which could then be used to sign Lo Celso. The Argentine may also be on that United list.
