Inter Milan are looking to offer cash plus Ivan Perisic to sign Manchester United star Romelu Lukaku in the summer transfer window, according to the latest reports.
Inter Milan have been interested in the services of our Belgian striker for sometime as a possible replacement for their star Striker Mauro Icardi.
Romelu Lukaku has already talked about his “dreams” and intentions of playing in the Serie A with either of Inter Milan or Juventus his preferred destination.
Now according to the reports published in the dailystar, Inter Milan are offering cash plus Manchester United’s long time target Ivan Perisic in order to lower the fee for the 26-year-old Striker.
Romelu Lukaku is being valued at €60m (£52m) and €70m (£61m) by the Red Devils while Inter Milan’s summer budget is a meager €51m as they also hope to improve in other areas.
Manchester United are obviously in the need of a winger who is capable of operating on the Right Wing and Ivan Perisic has been a long term target for Ed Woodward and co.
The Croat almost signed for us after his World Cup heroics with Croatia with Jose Mourinho pushing for the deal. That didn’t quite work out for various financial reasons.
Now 30 years of age, Inter Milan are hoping to include the winger in any deal for Romelu Lukaku that would bring down the fee to €30m (£26m).
Romelu Lukaku has already been displaced by Marcus Rashford as the primary Striker under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s new look side.
With Woodward looking at younger options like Nicolas Pepe and Moussa Dembele as a possible replacement for the outgoing Lukaku, the executive vice-chairman might be tempted to pull off this transfer.
Ed Woodward is expected to meet Lukaku’s agent Federico Pastorello sometime this week to discuss the possibilities.
