Inter Milan reject a proposed swap deal by Man United for defender Milan Skriniar which would have seen Romelu Lukaku going the other way.
Lukaku is the top priority for newly appointed Inter Boss Antonio Conte and the Belgian has left no secret of his desire to make a move to the Serie A.
As a matter of fact, Some reports in Italian media claim that Lukaku has agreed personal terms with the Nerazzurri.
The only stumbling block in the entire scenario is Manchester United’s £60 million valuation of the player which the Serie A club is reluctant to match.
In an attempt to sweeten the deal, United have raised the possibility of adding centre-back Milan Skriniar in the mix of things according to Corriere dello Sport (via Inside Futbol )
The Red Devils are desperate to land a commanding centre back in order to address their defensive woes and see Skriniar as the perfect prospect.
However, according to the same report, Inter have swiftly turned down United’s approach for the 24-year-old as he is touted to central to Conte’s ideas at the San Siro.
Amidst all the tussle going on between the two clubs, Lukaku has explicitly revealed his desire to play under Conte, labelling him as the best manager in the world.
“I am a big Serie A fan,” he said. “Those close to me know that I have always wanted to play in the English league and in the Italian one, I love Italy.
“The transfer of [Cristiano] Ronaldo, the Italian league is now coming back. Now Antonio Conte going to Inter Milan, which is really good because he is, to me, the best manager in the world.
“You know I’m not somebody who likes to talk about my personal relationship with managers, but I’m a Manchester United player.”
