Manchester United are in a need of a new centre-back to partner Victor Lindelof next season because let’s get real, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones are only good enough to be a squad player and Eric Bailly has some severe fitness issues.

Man United have used the likes of Matteo Darmian and Marcos Rojo in the middle of the defence, but we are not aiming to be a mid-table club, are we?

A new centre-back signing is a priority, and if the latest reports are to be believed, Man United staff have been impressed by one of our loan stars who is having a good season in the Championship. We are talking about Axel Tuanzebe.

The youngster is on loan at Aston Villa and while he had a slow start to the season, thanks to a foot injury, the 21-year-old has impressed under the guidance of John Terry and Dean Smith, since his return into the starting eleven.

The Englishman joined our academy at the tender of age of 8 and was the Captain of the Under-18’s in his debut year at that level. The only other player to achieve that feat? Yes, you guessed it right! Gary Neville!

If Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can offer him a role in the starting eleven, Manchester United could spend big on different positions, possibly the midfield and the Right Wing.

Bruno Fernandes has been one of the targets for the Red Devils. The Portuguese superstar has scored 24 goals and 13 assists in the season so far and would be available for anywhere near £100m.

Similarly, the money could be spent on someone like Aaron Wan-Bissaka for the Right Back position which is also a priority after the departure of Antonio Valencia.

Do you think Tuanzebe is good enough to start for us? Or would you rather spend big on a centre-back?
