Tottenham Hotspur had a horrendous start of the season which saw them fire their manager Mauricio Pochettino who had taken them to the Champions League final last season. They have been resurgent under the new manager Jose Mourinho though.
Dele Alli has been one of the best players for the Spurs since the arrival of the Portuguese manager. Alli was one of the standout performers for Spurs last season and much was expected of him coming into this season as well, however, he was left out injured for almost five months while Spurs lost one game after the another.
Mourinho is a big fan of the 23-year-old and Alli is back to his best under the Portuguese boss. Sky Sport pundit Jamie Redknapp believes the young midfielder is “as good as anyone in the Premier League”.
He had a horrendous injury, tore his hamstring badly, missed four or five months of the season so it’s taken time.
“You can see his fitness levels, he’s looking sharper and the disappointing thing for him will be Harry Kane being injured, they used to link up so well a few years ago.
“When he runs from deep he’s as good as any other midfield player because he knows where the goal is.”
Spurs take on Manchester City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.
