Former Tottenham and England midfielder Jermain Jenas is excited at the prospect of seeing NDombele play for the club. Jenas, who began his career at Nottingham Forest and spent most of his career in the English top flight certainly knows both the good and the bad about it. He thinks signing Tanguy NDombele from Lyon for £63 million is a ‘statement’ from Spurs.
Tottenham paid club record transfer fee for Tanguy NDombele
Tottenham Hotspur have signed Tanguy NDombele for a transfer fee worth £63 million. He is the first signing in almost 3 transfer windows for the club. However, within one day Daniel Levy has successfully brought both Jack Clarke from Leeds United and NDombele from Olypic Lyon.
The transfer of NDombele is preceded by the second most expensive signing Davinson Sanchez for £42 million. There are chances that this price may be eclipsed by another rumoured signing: Giovani Lo Celso.
Jermain Jenas Tweets about Spurs’ statement signing NDombele
The former midfielder was a Spurs player for a long period spanning from 2005 to 2013. He tweeted within hours of the deal being made official to celebrate the most expensive Spurs signing to date.
Strong statement from Spurs, looking forward to seeing what Tanguy Ndombele brings to the team next season.

NDombele’s dribbling and passing from the midfield will certainly bring a certain sharpness and edge to the team. Pochettino would expect Tanguy NDombele to start right away at the young age of 22 in the Premier League. He will expect the new midfielder to help in connecting the midfield to the final 3.
The onus is now on Mauricio Pochettino to continue the great work he has done so far with limited resources. Spurs will make more signings this summer but some of them may have to wait until some players like Eriksen depart.
