Manchester United are set to hand Jesse Lingard a new contract worth £130,000 per week, according to the latest reports.
Jesse Lingard has had an underwhelming season with Manchester United where he finished with just 5 goals and 4 assists from 36 appearances across all competitions.
While Lingard still has 2 years left in his £100,000 per week contract, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to tie him down on a new deal as soon as possible as he wants to avoid any David de Gea and Marcus Rashford kind of situation with the midfielder.
While not the best of goalscorer, Jesse Lingard has got plenty of pace, clever movement and energy that the Norwegian gaffer would want to exploit next season.
It’s still unclear whether Jesse would want to extend that deal on those terms offered by Ed Woodward or will he stall and negotiate for more money. We will keep you updated on that front.
The 26-year-old English International, who has been a Red Devils since 2000, made his first-team breakthrough in August 2014.
The England International had previously spent his time on loan at Leicester City, Birmingham City, Brighton & Hove Albion and Derby County.
The 26-year-old has, till now, made 167 appearances for the Red shirt where he has racked up 29 goals and assisted 18 more.
Do you think Jesse Lingard should be offered a new contract at Manchester United?
