Portuguese wonderkid Joao Felix has been urged to snub Manchester City in favour of Manchester United by ex-Spurs striker Darren Bent.

Felix who has been a revelation this term has scored 20 goals for Benfica.

His Heroics have caught the eye of Manchester United and cross-town rivals Manchester City.

And Darren Bent says Felix would be another exciting addition to the United squad following the arrival of Daniel James from Swansea.

“I really like this kid,” Bent said on Sky Sports News.

“The first time I watched him was when he scored the hat-trick in the Europa League quarter-final.

“What I like about him is he’s not fazed by the big occasions.

“To score a hat-trick in the quarter-final of any competition says a lot, he’s only young as well.

“He’s so exciting and I really like him. If Manchester United can go and pull that one off as well that’s really going to set them up in good stead.

“His buyout clause is over £100m so that might be a bit tricky.

“But as I said, as a youngster in world football I’m a big fan of this kid.”

Bent was then quizzed about what would be the better option for Felix, City or United?

“It depends on what he wants to do,” he continued.

“If he wants to go and play football sooner rather than later, go to Manchester United.

“If they’re going to start rebuilding, they just signed Dan James, if they go and sign Felix as well he’s going to play. They’re going to sign him to play.

“If you go to Manchester City now they’re pretty much set. All of their players are quite young as well.

“The only thing you might think is if [Leroy] Sane goes to Bayern Munich, that frees up a little slot there and maybe he can slot in there.

“But for me right now it’s where he sees himself. If he wants to hit the ground running right now in this kind of development stage, maybe Manchester United might suit him as we stand right now.”
