According to some reports published in France, Serge Aurier got some stern warning from Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho just after he took charge as the new gaffer.
The Portuguese reportedly wanted to discipline the defender upon his arrival. It is quite evident from the full-backs performance that this little talk has starting to do wonders for his performance.
Foot Mercato earlier reported that Mourinho made it very clear to Aurier that he is no fool and Serge Aurier must improve his behaviour and performance if he wants to stay in the team.
At the same time, the self-proclaimed special one noted that Aurier he can become one of the best defenders in the Premier League if he stayed focused and worked hard.
I’m not laughing,” Mourinho reportedly told Aurier.
“If you think you can make fun of me on social media like you could have done with your former trainer, you are wrong.”
During his time at Paris Saint-Germain, Aurier had landed himself in hot water with comments made about former manager Laurent Blanc.
The right-back has also been caught up in an unnecessary confrontation with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Luiz on social media in the past.
Mourinho has been a breath of fresh air since arriving in north London and his influence is already rubbing off on his players.
