Manchester United Star Juan Mata has signed a new 2 year contract extension at the Old Trafford, according to the BBC.
The Spaniard’s deal at Manchester United was set to expire in a couple of weeks as the negotiations between the club and the player dragged on.
However, there have never been any doubts over the Spaniard’s loyalty for this club and the ultimate professional looked ecstatic after signing the new deal:
“I have been at Manchester United for five years and I am proud to call Old Trafford my home,” Mata said.
“I am so happy that I will be a part of that,” he added.
As we reported before, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a big fan of the midfielder and wanted to keep him at the Old Trafford next season. As per the manager:
“Juan is the ultimate professional and one of the most intelligent players I have worked with.
“As well as everything he brings on the pitch, we have some fantastic young players here and I know that Juan’s vast experience will help them to reach their potential over the coming seasons.”
Joined from Chelsea in 2014 for £37.1m, Juan Mata has scored 45 goals in 218 appearances for Manchester United.
